Ohio Booster Seat Coalition
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for KIDS with MORE THAN 2,000 children 14 years and younger dying and nearly 300,000 injured each year. Child booster seats are designed for children 4-8 years old and are a known lifesaver when properly used with lap shoulder belts. However, over 60 percent of parents and caregivers still do not use booster seats.

Ohio in danger of being last state to have a booster seat law
With Maryland and Mississippi having recently approved federally compliant booster seat laws, Ohio is in danger of being the last state in the nation to enact such a law. With the addition of Maryland and Mississippi, 43 states plus the District of Columbia now have booster seat laws. Mississippi's bill requires passengers ages 4 through 8, under 4' 9" in height or weighing less than 80 pounds, to ride in booster seats.
