Speaker Husted announces at reception he'll work hard to get booster seat bill
passed
Columbus) — The Boost Ohio Kids Coalition hosted a reception for legislators and coalition members on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Athletic Club of Columbus.
Hosted by the Ohio Conference of AAA Clubs and sponsored by American Commerce Insurance Company, approximately 60 attendees celebrated an announcement by Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives, Jon Husted, who said that he would work with bill sponsor Rep. Shannon Jones to make sure House Bill 320 passes the House before the end of the current legislative session.
Representatives from Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital of Cleveland held demonstrations on the benefits of booster seats compared to lap and shoulder belts only on young children, ages 4 to 8.
If passed, House Bill 320 will require all Ohio children ages 4 to 8 to use a booster seat when buckling up in the back seat.
